Behavior Analysis and Public Policy 

     The group is for behavior analysts in all areas of research, education, and clinical work who are grappling with the policy implications of their work. The group discusses public policy, conducting policy analysis, and relating cost and benefit information to policy makers and consumers.   Behavior Analysis and Disruptive Disorders 

     The surgeon general report on mental health lists behavior analysis/modification as a well established treatment intervention for children with ADHD in the classroom. In addition, behavioral parent training is a well established treatment for oppositional defiant disorder and conduct disorder. Finally, behaviorally oriented residentals such as teaching family homes are listed by the surgeon general as promising for children and adolescents with conduct disorders.      BAO is a special interest group of the Internation Association for Behavior Analysis. This list is for parents and professionals interested in behavior analytic assessments such as functional behavioral assessment and curriculum based measurement as well as behaviorally based interventions. It is hope that this list will serve as an active point of discussion between parents, teachers, and researchers on the current availability of behavioral technology for treatment of disruptive disorders and the direction that this research needs to go.
